The Parish Council’s comments regarding the proposed 70-home development in Barcombe Cross have been submitted, both to Lewes District Council (LDC) and site developer Elivia Homes.

From Wednesday 9 April to Friday 11 April 2025, between 9am to 4pm, Balfour Beatty will carry out drainage repairs on Spithurst Road and School Hill, Barcombe.
According to the contractors’ info, work will ‘involve replacing broken pipework; rebuilding the kerb surround to help catch rainwater into the drain; repair the collapsed catchpit, and reform ditches to alleviate flooding in the area.’ There’s no mention of resurfacing the road – at least not this time around.
