About Barcombe

Barcombe Parish Council is the local government body for the village of Barcombe in East Sussex, representing a community of approximately 1,524 people as of 2024.

The council manages local affairs, including the Sports Pavilion and playground, and recently approved a biodiversity policy. Meetings are open to the public.

Welcome to Barcombe Parish Council

Barcombe is a vibrant rural parish in East Sussex, set within the beautiful Ouse Valley and surrounded by rolling countryside and woodland. With its mix of historic buildings, traditional village character and active community life, the parish offers a distinctive balance of heritage and modern rural living. Its network of footpaths, open spaces and community facilities contribute to a strong sense of place and belonging.

Barcombe Parish Council works on behalf of residents to represent local views, protect community interests and support the continued wellbeing of the parish. The Council considers planning matters, helps maintain local amenities and green spaces, and works in partnership with Lewes District Council and other organisations to deliver services and improvements that benefit the community.
